Eagles compete in first meet

Even though the team was outnumbered by opponent Pine Lake, the seventh- and eighth-grade Snoqualmie Middle School girls’ track team performed admirably in the first meet of the season.

The eighth-grade team saw first-place finishes from Kelsey Wise in the hurdles, Annie McElroy in the 400 and double wins from Ashley Wright in the shot and discus. Wise’s time in the hurdles places her at No. 5 on the all-time top-10 list for Snoqualmie.

Adding second-place finishes were Cailee Olson in the discus, Wise in the long jump and McElroy in the high jump. Kelcey Simpson took third place in the hurdles and long jump, and Olson was third in the shot.

In the seventh-grade girls’ meet, Danielle Crabtree led the way with a first-place finish in the 800-meter run. Crabtree’s 2:48.8 in the 800 places her No. 5 on the all-time top-10 list. Taking seconds were Leah Wiley in the long jump and Brittney Conway in the 800-meter run. Thirds came from Sarah Moran in the 400, Kristeen Johnson in the hurdles and Wiley in the 200.
