Welcome to ‘My Home Town,’ Snoqualmie

Snoqualmie residents finally got a chance to say, all together, “Welcome to My Home Town!”

Their opportunity came on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Northwest Railway Museum, where a crowd of residents, children, city staff and members of the United Methodist Church Choir were filmed for the introductory segment of “My Home Town,” a magazine television show that visits cities and towns in Comcast cable company’s coverage area.

As bystanders walked by the scene of the taping, the growing crowd called them over to be a part, too, with yells of, “C’mon, we need you!”

Out in front was choir director Harley Brumbaugh, exhorting the crowd to move their bodies and bring some excitement to the music.

Brumbaugh didn’t want to see any stiff, wooden figures in Snoqualmie’s big moment.

“If you don’t enjoy your own performance, no one else will,” he said.

“I’m all for anything we can do like this, to bring the community together,” Brumbaugh said.

“It’s really cool that they’re highlighting this town,” said resident Abbie Grimstad, 15, who was part of the taping. “This town is an awesome place.”
