Issaquah rolls over Mount Si
The Issaquah Indians girls’ basketball team took to the
court Saturday afternoon against the Mount Si Wildcats at the
3A KingCo Conference tournament at Bellevue Community
College and never looked back. During an 18-0 run in the first quarter,
the Indians were able to keep the Wildcats from scoring until
less than 90 seconds from the end of the quarter, when freshman
Angela Jones hit a three-point jumper.
Things didn’t get much better for the Wildcats until the
fourth quarter when Mount Si picked up its offense and had an 11-3
run against the Indians, cutting the lead to 48-37. Leading scorer
for Issaquah was Laura Vertatschitsch with 16 points. Mount Si’s
Nicci Landdeck and Moriah Hover had 12 and 14 points, respectively,
