Herb Miller started out on the road of life in the Snoqualmie Valley in 1940. Though his road ended in 2002, his boulevard lives on in Alaska.
Miller was honored earlier this year in Fairbanks, Alaska, by the co-trustees of the Bentley Trust, who dubbed the main entrance to the very large Bentley Mall as Herb Miller Boulevard.
Miller administrated the trust as the trust real estate manager for Union Bank of California for 20 years and was instrumental in the development of the property. Ownership of the street was dedicated to the Borough of Fairbanks in 2004, but the family just learned of the honor this year.
“Herb has a very large and loving family that is very proud that [the trust] has honored his memory with this sign,” said Miller’s sister, Marilyn Kassian of Snoqualmie, in a letter to the trust. She and three other sisters – Georgia Kramer, Sharon Posey and May Wilson – live in the Valley.
