Snoqualmie mayor, council positions up for election this fall

City positions open for candidate filing June 1; workshop offered

The city of Snoqualmie will have four city council seats and the position of mayor open for election this year. The terms for the mayor and council positions 1, 3, 5 and 7 will expire on December 31.

In-person or online candidate filing opens June 1 and closes June 5. Candidate declarations by mail will be accepted beginning Monday, May 18. For filing details, go to the King County Elections Web site at www.kingcounty.gov/elections or call (206) 296-1565.

A two-hour King County Elections 2009 Candidate Workshop will be offered 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, May 9, and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 12. Election staff and a representative from the Public Disclosure Commission will be in attendance to discuss rules, boundaries, campaigns and other issues. There is no cost. Workshops will be held at the King County Elections office, 919 SW Grady Way in Renton.
