Busy election season shapes up for Valley

NORTH BEND – The city could see one of its biggest turnovers in power this fall in what looks to be one of the busiest election seasons in recent years.

A city that has been privy to numerous uncontested elections in the past will find all but one available seat challenged with the one-week election filing period closing last week.

SNOQUALMIE – Four candidates will be challenging two of the incumbents on the Snoqualmie City Council this year.

Jeff MacNichols, Terry Sorenson, Gil Tumey and Nate Short all filed last week during the one-week period all candidates in King County must register to run.

Incumbents Dick Kirby, who was challenged by MacNichols, and Marcia Korich, who was challenged by Sorenson, Tumey and Short, also filed.
