Cancer fighters meet for coffee
A group of Valley residents who have survived cancer, or are continuing to battle the disease, are finding solidarity in a monthly coffee get together.
About a dozen cancer-experienced locals meet at 9 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month at the Sawdust Coffee Company at the Factory Stores at North Bend. The next meeting is Saturday, Feb. 14.
Participant Lisa Newell said the informal get-togethers are a way for people who are dealing with cancer to talk to others who have gone through similar experiences.
“You look at everything differently,” Newell said.
The coffee group is forming a team for this summer’s Snoqualmie Valley Relay for Life. They will be called “Team Survivor.”

Party planned for McNeely birthday
Family members of Gloria McNeely are hosting an open house in honor of the Valley resident — and former Valley Record staffer — turning “90 years young.”
The open house is 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 at her home at 8281 Doone Ave. S.E. in Snoqualmie. The family hopes that many friends will stop in and wish her well.

Fall City Arts sponsors events
Fall City Arts, a local non-profit organization, is looking for art events to sponsor.
Valley artists, or residents who have a great idea for a Fall City event, can apply to the organization for help with funding, finding a venue, marketing, building contacts and making events happen.
Suggested events include art shows, musical or dance performances, mural painting, art classes, theater, movie nights, or anything creative that can be offered in Fall City.
