Water, sewer rates go up in Snoqualmie, paying for pipe fixes

The Snoqualmie City Council this month approved a 3 percent increase on water, sewer, and storm water rates for customers in the 98065 ZIP code.

The city will use the upped rates to pay for operation and maintenance of the utilities, plus replacement of aging underground water pipes and installation of new storm water systems.

New rates go into effect March 1. All rates, including those for low-income customers and those outside of city limits – are posted on the city website at www.cityofsnoqualmie.org; click ‘Services and Utilities’.

Water – Base Rate: $24.70 to $25.45 per month

Sewer – Flat Rate: $37.30 to $38.40 per month

Storm Water – Flat Rate: $10.80 to $11.10 per month

Low income eligibility requirements and an application for reduced monthly water rates are posted on the city website.
