Thanks for a great experience

In early November, Opstad Elementary’s 5th-graders
attended Camp Seymour on Key Peninsula. Over the course of three days and
two nights, these boys and girls had hands-on experiences learning about the
rich and varied environment of the Northwest.
Forestry, orienteering, kayaking, and marine life classes coupled
with the general camaraderie of cabin groups, night
hikes, and campfires provided memories these kids
will have for a lifetime to share with siblings and with their own children
in the years to come.
A big thank you goes to Carol Caldwell, Marty Cloud, Ileen
O’Leary, Karen Eddy, and Steve Bates, Opstad’s 5th-grade team. These dedicated
individuals are critical to the success of this program. As a parent I
appreciate the effort, time and energy each of these outstanding educators put
forth to provide this opportunity for my child.
Also, we are grateful to the Mount Si High School counselors that
gave their time and enthusiasm to these 5th- graders. These young leaders
include Terese Taklo, Amber Bliven, Amber Schneider, Jessii Raisio, Ariah
Nobe, Lauren Berndt, Rufino Virata, Seth Holub, Andrew Ahmadi,
Adam Erickson, Isahia Cormier and Jed McDaniels.
You are the best!
