Little League Clinic


Boys and girls in grades 1 through 8 are invited to participate in a Little League Clinic to be held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Mount Si High School baseball field. The coaches will cover basic baseball fundamentals such as hitting, pitching, fielding, catching and base running. Mount Si’s coaching staff and players will teach the clinic. To register, please pick up a flyer in the Mount Si office, or sign up in person on the day of the clinic. Registration cost is $25 per person and includes a T-shirt and lunch. The clinic will be moved into the gym if it rains so players should bring tennis shoes.

Sign up for volleyball camp


The Mount Si volleyball team is accepting applications for a volleyball camp they will be hosting from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on March 27, April 3, 17 and 24, at Mount Si High School.

All middle school kids in grades 6 to 8 are invited to preregister by contacting Coach Bonnie Foote at (425) 831-8219, or by e-mail at footeb@snoqualmie.k12.wa.us. Registration is $55 before March 20, and $65 after. The fee includes a camp T-shirt.

Applications are still being accepted for the Ten Star All Star Summer Basketball Camp. Boys between the ages of 8 and 19 and girls ages 10 to 19 are eligible to apply. Michael Jordan, Vince Carter and Grant Hill are just a few of the professional athletes who have made appearances at the camp in the past.

Athletes can choose to attend various camp locations throughout the country, such as Olympia, Fort Worth, Texas, and Thousand Oaks, Calif. Selected players will be notified by invitation.

Seattle hosts tournament


The North American Youth Sports Association (NAS) will host its annual tournament on March 30 through April 1 in Seattle at Auburn High School.

The tournament features 10 brackets of boys’ and girls’ teams in grades 5 through 12 based on the grade the student is enrolled in, and awards will be given to the winners of each bracket. The entry fee is $95 and guarantees each team a minimum of two games. Entry deadline is March 9. Hub/Friends of Youth host race


Friends of Youth is looking for volunteers to help with the Alpine Days road race to be held on August 11. Volunteers are needed to help organize, get out brochures and help out on race day with various duties. Try outs for soccer

The Snoqualmie Valley Youth Soccer Association will hold tryouts for Cascade Select Soccer teams for ages 12 through 17 from March 17 through March 18 at the Snoqualmie Ridge Soccer Fields. Team selection is based on player performance at the tryouts. Please see advertisement in this week’s paper for the session times and other information.
