Community block party is Saturday on Snoqualmie Ridge

The weekend brings the Snoqualmie Valley Block Party to the Snoqualmie Ridge neighborhood, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17.

Events for the day include a three-on-three basketball tournament sponsored by the city of Snoqualmie and Church on the Ridge, a square dance party, free synthetic skating rink, bounce houses, an appearance by everyone’s favorite princesses, face painting, Block Party Bingo, vendor booths and of course, live entertainment all day.

What’s Block Party Bingo? Come to the information booth during the event to pick up your bingo card. Collect stamps at various locations throughout the party, then turn it in for a chance to win prizes, including a $200 Ridge Supermarket gift card, gift cards to Infusion Bar and Grill, or Glass & Bottle Bistro, and a gift package from DoTerra.

The party starts with the three-on-three tournament, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Ridge Street between Center Boulevard and Borden Avenue. Register teams or individually to be assigned a team, at facebook.com/SnoRidge3on3.

At 1 p.m., the city’s synthetic ice rink will be open for free skating on Center Boulevard.

Free lessons in square dancing and line dancing are part of the square dance party, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Ridge amphitheater. Caller Brett Kapperman will lead the session.

And all day, the main stage will feature live performances. The lineup includes singers from Big Star Studios, a demo from DMW Martial Arts, and music and dance from Cascade Dance Academy, Bad Idea, Light’s Out, Tequila Mockingbird and LocoMotive.
