The Snoqualmie Arts Commission’s new project, Trains Around Town, will be on display in historic downtown Snoqualmie throughout Railroad Days.
The project features artists of all media. Each selected artist will be given a wooden “blank” approximately 1½’ x 2′, with a stenciled outline of a train. From that point, they can create anything they like, within the stenciled outline.
The art will be displayed at Snoqualmie Railroad Days, and at the Art Gallery of Sno Valley and the Finally Friday Art & Wine Walk in Historic Snoqualmie Friday, Aug. 26. At the Finally Friday event, the public will be able to vote on their favorite pieces.
Two winners will be chosen, a People’s Choice award and a Snoqualmie Arts Commission award. The winners will receive $200 and two round-trip passes on the Northwest Railway Museum train courtesy of the Northwest Railway Museum. The winning works will also be displayed at the Art Gallery of SnoValley during the month of September.
