Table-to-farm dinner series invites community to dine at the source

Published 8:30 am Friday, July 15, 2016

SnoValley Tilth is hosting two evenings of on-farm fine dining and discourse in the Snoqualmie Valley this summer: 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, July 16 at Local Roots Farm, with chefs Gordon Wishard and Meredith Molli and Southard Winery; and 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at SnoValley Tilth’s Experience Farming Project, Stuart Landing Farm, with chef Mark Bodinet and Desert Wind Winery.

The farmers and community members of SnoValley Tilth invite you to join them in celebrating the greater Seattle area’s agricultural abundance while working toward the SVT vision of more farmers on more farmland, growing more sustainable food and fiber for the community.

Both events start with tours of the fields, local wine, appetizers and live music. The four-course dinners are made with locally grown sustainable ingredients and paired with Washington wines.

Proceeds from the dinners benefit Tilth’s work promoting local, sustainable farming. Tilth represents Valley farmers in policy advocacy, and provides opportunities for farmer networking, resource sharing, and education, as well as marketing opportunities like the Carnation Farmers Market and farm-to-school efforts. In 2016, SVT is expanding its small farm incubator program at the Experience Farming Project.

The August dinner will showcase program participants, all of whom receive a plot of land ready to plant, access to equipment, and support from experienced farmers.

Tickets are $125 each and are available at http://www.brownpapertickets.com or www.snovalleytilth.org
