Letter | Chaotic caucuses are not the best way to select candidates

Published 4:40 pm Tuesday, March 29, 2016

I would like to publicly express my disappointment in the Democratic caucus held Saturday at Mount Si High School freshman campus. Because the attendance was too large for the space, it was chaotic and very noisy, making it necessary to yell to be heard.

Our table captain spent the first part of the session running around getting signatures for his candidate and when he finally returned was not well organized.

In short, a less conducive atmosphere for making a very crucial decision could not have been found. It is time for Washington Democrats to select their candidate with a simple primary so that everyone can make his or her choice without the distraction of a barrage of questionable information and/or undue pressure.
