Dawn Roberta Drake Angel
Dawn Roberta Drake Angel of North Bend, WA died on Friday, January 15, 2016. She was 72 years of age. Dawn was born on August 31, 1943 in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, the daughter of Hilton and Roberta Drake. She was raised in Carman, Manitoba Canada and graduated high school in 1962. She attended Winnipeg Commercial College 1962-1963 studying bookkeeping. She worked in Winnipeg until August of 1965 when she left for Chicago, IL to pursue her dream of being an airline stewardess. She was hired by United Airlines and moved to Seattle September 1965. Dawn became a US citizen on September 19, 1971. She attended and graduated beauty school as an Esthetician in 1985. In her later years, Dawn worked at Truckers America (Ken’s TruckTown) as a cashier.
Dawn enjoyed swimming, fishing, golfing with her father and dancing the jive. Her greatest love besides her sons were her dogs. She also loved being around people, and talking and interacting with them. Dawn often gave all she had and all she could; not just to her closest family and friends, but to the truckers and travelers that stopped at Ken’s Restaurant. Dawn attended Snoqualmie Valley Alliance Church in Fall City.
Dawn is preceded in death by her parents Hilton & Roberta Drake and cousin Gerry Holmes Copp of Canada. She is survived by son Jeffrey M. Angel and granddaughter Mikayla Angel of Arlington, VA; son Marc A. Angel of North Bend, WA; ex-husband Sam Angel of Palm Springs, CA; cousins Denise Holden, Gail Remus, Blair Sharpe & Diane Sharpe Welder of Canada; and many loving friends.
A Memorial Service is being planned for late Spring. The family suggests remembrances be sent to the Humane Society or American Cancer Society.
