Rock blasting closures on Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass start at a later time next week with the potential of a longer blasted planned for Wednesday, May 14.
The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will close I-90 at 7:30 p.m. for about an hour each night Monday, May 12, Tuesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 15. The blast closure planned at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 could last longer than an hour due the location of the blast, which could bring down large amounts of debris. During rock blasting closures, eastbound drivers will be stopped at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound drivers will be stopped at Price Creek (milepost 61).
Drivers will also experience minor delays during the day due to intermittent rolling slowdowns on Saturday, May 10 as well as Monday, May 12 through Friday, May 16.
Drivers may also experience delays due to ramp closures in both directions at the Yellowstone Trail Road interchange and the Hyak interchange on I-90.
