Letters | Snoqualmie’s Public Works did great in storm, but what about back-up?

During the storm and subsequent power outage, recognition needs to be given to the individuals in the city’s public works department for their non-stop efforts to keep water and sewer operational.
In the absence of permanent back up generators, these individuals worked long hours, conducting many operations manually due to woefully inadequate rented generators. Instead of caring for their families, they were caring for the many residents in need.
It’s incredulous that we have a state of the art City Hall, but no state of the art back up system for our pumping stations. There’s something amiss with priorities.
