Pick up, drop off or recycle Christmas trees in Snoqualmie

Published 1:04 pm Thursday, December 29, 2011

When the holidays have come and gone, Valley residents have several options for disposing of their Christmas trees.

• Drop Off

You may drop off your Christmas tree at the corner lot of Snoqualmie Parkway and State Route 202, December 27 through January 15, 2012.

Flocked trees and those with tinsel, decorations and tree nails will not be accepted.

This service is provided free of charge by the city of Snoqualmie and King County Solid Waste Divisions Waste Reduction and Recycling grant.

• Pick Up by the Boy Scouts

Local Boy Scout troops will collect holiday trees curbside on Saturday, January 7. Trees must be left in driveways by 8 a.m. Flocked trees and those with tinsel, decorations and tree nails will not be accepted. A donation of $10 is suggested with checks made payable to BSA Troop 425. Please place the donation in an envelope and attach it to the base of the tree with a rubber band. Boy scouts will distribute envelopes to residences in mid-December.

• Recycle Trees

King County encourages residents to tree-cycle your holiday tree. Visit the King County Tree-Cycling webpage for a list of recycling and transfer stations and private yard waste facilities that accept holiday trees.
