Valley voters hit the polls

Fulfilling her civic duty on Election Day, Shannon Dore inserts her ballot into a voting machine at Si View Community Center in North Bend as her daughter Emma and poll worker Betty Gildersleeve look on. This is the last election in which voters will be able to make their selection in a voting booth; next time, all ballots will be absentee-only. Dore said she prefers poll voting over absentee voting because “it makes you feel more involved.” Polls close at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, and mail-in ballots must be postmarked on that day. Post offices did not plan to stay open late on election day.
