Wave of understanding lessens anger

I wrote previously to express my opposition to the proposed casino and have watched with increasing anger as stage after stage of the approval process passed without anything more than a token effort was made to determine whether the nontribal members of the community thought a casino should be built where they live. Suddenly, all that anger vanished in a flash. The flash was a wave of deep understanding that came upon me like a vision!
Just as the members of the Snoqualmie Tribe had their property stolen and rights ignored a few generations ago, so are the rights of the nontribal members of the community now being ignored. With my newfound understanding came the flush of reassurance, like a deep breath and slow exhale brings calm. I know now that as sure as a pendulum will swing to and fro, my son’s great-great-grandchildren will be afforded some special privilege of land use that will right the terrible injustice now being done. It is the six-generation rule by virtue of sixth generation hindsight!
