Valley has a lot riding on Nov. 6

As election day draws near, our focus turns to the candidates who may possibly lead us in the future. How well do we know these candidates, and what they stand for? Do their ideals match our own, and will they truly represent the best interests of their constituents rather than their own agenda?
Can they negotiate win-win deals and understand that politics is a game of compromise? Can they compromise without holding grudges or letting anger get in the way?
All of these questions need to be answered as you check the boxes for your candidates. Our communities have a lot riding on those who will represent us in the next few years. Snoqualmie especially will face many challenges, requiring a clear, calm approach to problems. Who from the list of candidates, can provide that guidance?
Fiscal responsibility will become more important than ever in our region. The days of uncontrolled spending for any part of government passed with the fall of the dot-com era. Each branch of local governments’ budget proposals will need to be scrutinized to the penny.
But before any of these issues can be decided, you have to get out and vote. So next Tuesday, Nov. 6., get out there and let your voice be heard. Vote!
