Kiwanis Club prepares for Giving Trees

Published 12:19 am Friday, October 3, 2008

The holidays are fast approaching and the Kiwanis Club, with the help of Hopelink, is sponsoring the annual Giving Tree Program again.

Sign ups for the gifts will occur Nov. 22 and 23, and Dec. 13 and 14, at Sterling Bank and the North Bend library. The food bank will have sign ups on Wednesdays.

To sign up you will need photo ID for those over 18. Social Security cards or birth certificates will be required for all persons within the household. You will have to show proof of physical address and proof of the last month’s income. If you are a Hopelink client, you will not have to do this. The purpose is to ensure that all recipients are treated equally and to identify need. To schedule an appointment, please call (425) 333-4163.

Outlets for the Giving Trees are Safeway, Cascade Office Supply, Ace Hardware, QFC, Falls Pharmacy, Gordy’s Restaurant, Family Market in Fall City, Georgio’s of Snoqualmie Ridge, the Moose Hall and Sterling Savings Bank. The trees will be set up the day after Thanksgiving and continue through Dec. 19.

The gifts will be distributed Dec. 22 and 23 at the Grange Hall in North Bend. Set up will be Dec. 21 at the Grange Hall. Please call Linda Bonner at Sterling Bank, (425) 888-1616, if you wish to volunteer for this very rewarding experience.
