Community won big with bingo night

One of the advantages of a small town is how the whole community rallies about its school and senior center. Recently, two amazing women, Kim Lisk and Missy Paulson, both PTA presidents, moms and employees, took time out of very busy schedules to support the Sno-Valley Senior Center. Together they coordinated a Family Bingo Night on April 5, which attracted 96 people of all ages.

The purpose of this event was to raise money to ensure the independence of senior citizens in the Snoqualmie Valley. Carnation Mayor Stuart Lisk showed his support of seniors by calling numbers in a lively and engaging fashion. High-school honors student Stacy Smith volunteered to sell concessions. Local businesses such as Ixtapa, Blakes, Ho Wans, the barber shop and the auto shop all donated bingo prizes. Jennifer Berg contributed the most coveted prize of four tickets to a Mariners game.

The Sno-Valley seniors even got involved by donating certificates for the plant sale and steak dinner. There were lots of great toys for the kids, too. The support was overwhelming! Everyone left with a prize, even if it was just candy or popcorn. Thank you all for your support.

Stop by the senior center anytime. All ages are welcome. Lunch is at noon. We have quilting, and computer classes and much more. Exercise is every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:30 a.m. We are here for the community. Thank you, community, for being here for us as well.
