Boy Scout opposes SCTF

Everyone by now has heard that the SCTF proposed to go in near the Fire Training Academy has a high possibility of endangering the young men and young women who use that facility as a school. Well, I think it’s about time that we hear from one of those young men that use that facility frequently.

I’m a Boy Scout of Troop 700 and I use that facility about three or four times a year, whether for a merit badge or for an overnight campout. Quite frankly I’m shocked. Shocked that the Department of Social Health Services would even consider the Fire Training Academy as even a “maybe” site. Plus they’re taking Ron Sims’ word that it will work. He has promised $8.5 million that doesn’t exist. That’s a lot of zeros that he must be taking out of his own pocket because he has no control over it. It’s called common sense, look it up. Besides a penny for Ron Sims’ thoughts would be a bit too high for my blood.

In closing I’m asking the DSHS nicely, please, don’t put the SCTF at the North Bend site. Thank you.
