The Mount Si women’s varsity soccer team was an equal match
for much of its game against Issaquah last week, but a goal with 12 minutes
left in the second half was enough to put Issaquah on top for good, winning
1-0.
The goal by Issaquah’s Britta Schneider, with an assist by
Jillian Nicks, came in the 78th minute of the game against Wildcat
goalkeeper Kristin Travis.
Last Thursday, the Wildcats again had trouble finding the back of the
net, losing 5-0 to Bellevue.
Bellevue scored twice in the first half and added another three goals
in the second frame. For Bellevue, Katey Schmitz scored first at the
four-minute mark, with an assist from Carolyn Burnett. Thirteen minutes later,
Melissa Martinazzi notched the team’s second goal, with an assist by
Jaclyn Stansbury. Katie Zimmer’s goal, assisted by Courtney Altaras, came
four minutes into the second half, and was followed by a pair of goals
from Stansbury, with assists by Zimmer and Martinazzi.
Mount Si’s record dropped to 1-7 in 3A KingCo action.
