Basketball
‘Cats top Islanders
Whitney Beyerlin and Rachel Travis scored 25 of their combined 34 points in the second half to guide the Wildcats (5-3, 9-5). Travis finished with 19, while Beyerlin had 15 points. Both of them had six steals; as a team Mount Si had 19 steals. Others scorers were Nicole Remish with five, Karin Brevick with five, Landa Pastrana with three, Tara Eddings with two, Rachael Perrell with two, Shannon Posey with one and Christie Leatiota with one.
Girls squeak past Bellevue
It was a defensive game but the Mount Si Wildcat girls basketball “C” team pulled out a 29-25 win over Bellevue last week. Mount Si pulled it out in the end, scoring the final four points in the game. Leading the effort for the Wildcats was Amy Feree with 11 points, followed by Monica Nelson with eight and Corrin Kruse with six.
‘C’ team tops Islanders
The Mount Si girls’ basketball “C” team improved their season record to 6-3 with a 45-31 win over the Islanders last week. The game was lead by Corrin Kruse with nine points. The Wildcats’ defense stepped it up a notch to hold the Islanders down.

Gymnastics
‘Cats compete in tourney
Ten Mount Si gymnasts traveled to Issaquah High School last week for the Issaquah Invitational. In session one, Sarah Lewis placed fourth on the bars and Megan Carlson took first. Merritt Kott placed 14th on the vault, 15th on the floor and fourth on the beam.
In session two, Piper Sherbon placed 15th on the vault and second on the bars scoring an 8.0, her best score
Cheerleading
Cheer squad takes third
The Mount Si cheer squad traveled to Oak Harbor last week and took third in the Oak Harbor Sprit fest in competition. The Wildcats’ Natalie Sinclair and Kristin Heath’s Galaxy All Star squad won the five-girl stunt division. Gerard Boulanger and Heath also won the pairs division.
The Emerald Cup competition is Jan. 31 at Sammamish High School.
