The week in Mount Si baseball

Four games in five days had the Mount Si baseball team scrambling, but it was worth it in the end.

Mount Si 6, Interlake 3

The Wildcats doubled up the Saints at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue last Monday. Alex Smart had two hits, including a triple in the first. Craig Weber and Justin Lewis also had two hits to pace the Wildcat attack, while Mike Lindor out did all three of his teammates and picked up three hits. Nick Kirschner pitched a complete game victory to help the Wildcats cause.

Mount Si 2, Sammamish 1

The Wildcat baseball team’s magic number for postseason fell to two last Tuesday at Mount Si High School as they came from behind in dramatic fashion. Evan Hillburn hit a pinch-hit home run with two out in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 1-1. Then in the bottom of the tenth Brandon Sales scored on a wild pitch by Sammamish relief pitcher Cale Green, whose single in the third scored the lone Totem run.
