Jacobsen earns honors
SNOQUALMIE — Former Mount Si. basketball player
Mick Jacobsen of North Bend earned the Cascade Conference Player
of the Week honor for Western Baptist College.
Jacobsen, a junior, scored 39 points while making 18 of 19
field goal attempts during the January 27 game that topped
Albertson 79-65.
Jacobsen’s 18 of 19 field goal attempts is one of the top
single-game field goal percentages (.947) in Western Baptist history.
This career scoring night, coupled with a 13-point
performance in Western’s 89-72 victory over Eastern Oregon, helped
earn him the award.
At the time of the award, the Warriors had a 19-5 overall
season record and were 10-1 in the NAIA Division II Cascade
conference, tied with fifth ranked Oregon Tech.
