Spring All Comers Track Meet announced
The Snoqualmie Valley Track Club has set its upcoming season schedule. All competitions will be on Sunday afternoons and open to anyone who wants to compete. Field events begin at 2 p.m. and running events begin at 3 p.m. All events end by 4 p.m.
The meets and locations are as follows:
April 21, Mount Si High School
April 28, Chief Kanim Middle School
May 5, Mount Si High School
May 19, Chief Kanim Middle School
June 2, Mount Si High School
Field events include the turbo javelin, 6-pound shot put, standing long jump, softball throw and running long jump. Running events include the 1,600 meters, family 400-meter walk or jog, 25-meter dash, 50-meter dash, 400 meters, 100-meter dash, 800 meters, and the 200 meters. Age groups range from 3 to 11 with some events including older children. No spiked or cleated shoes may be used in competition.
Ribbons will be awarded for first, second, third and fourth places in jumping and throwing events. Family unit participants will receive a certificate. All who participate in the 25- or 50-meter dash but do not place will also receive a participant ribbon. The Snoqualmie Valley Track Club is managed by a team of Snoqualmie Valley volunteers who receive financial support from individuals, organizations, foundations and firms who share interest in providing the youth of the Snoqualmie Valley with the opportunity to run, throw and jump.

Hole-in-one at Mount Si
John Mantie of Issaquah, made a hole-in-one at Mount Si Golf Course recently. The shot was made on the fourth hole at 121 yards using a 9-iron. This was his first hole-in-one ever.
Athay takes third at event
Nine-year-old Michelle Athay of North Bend took third place in her age group at the Derby Days Classic gymnastics competition held in Maple Valley recently.
She scored an 8.4 on the vault, 8.65 on the uneven bars, 8.825 on the balance beam and 8.9 in the floor exercise. Athay is a member of Gymnastics East in Issaquah.
Hole-in-one for Leach
Russ Leach of Redmond scored a hole-in-one at Mount Si Golf Course last week. He used a 7-iron on the 121-yard fourth hole.
