Mount Si scene of holes-in-one

David Leonard of Kent shot a hole-in-one on May 22 at the Mount Si Golf Course. Leonard used a soft-pitching wedge to shoot 116 yards on the fourth hole.

Dorthea Harding of Mercer Island also shot a hole-in-one on May 22 at the Mount Si Golf Course. She used a 7-wood to shoot 143 yards on the 17th hole.

Nancy Everly Johnson of Snoqualmie shot a hole-in-one on June 24 at the Mount Si Golf Course. She used a 3-wood to shoot approximately 170 yards into the 11th hole.

13th hole lucky for some

Sherrie Methven of Snoqualmie shot a hole-in-one on June 30 at the Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Course. Methven used a 9-iron to shoot 136 yards into the 13th hole. Dr. Jim Perkins of Issaquah also shot a hole-in-one on June 30 at the Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Course. Perkins used a 7-iron to shoot 165 yards into the 13th hole.

Hub offers summer fun

The Snoqualmie Valley Youth Hub is offering a wide variety of summer and sports camps beginning this week and running through Aug. 17.

Hub sports camps include tennis, golf and basketball, as well as Skyhawks sports camps, such as soccer, baseball and Mini-Hawk, which is a sampling of soccer, baseball, basketball and roller hockey in one camp.

Hub summer camps will have a number of different activities to keep kids busy. Swimming, bowling, basketball and hiking, along with field trips to the Seattle Center, Woodland Park Zoo, the Family Fun Park in Tukwila and Wild Waves in Federal Way.

Sign up for football camp

It’s not too late to sign up for Vikings football or football camp. Camps for boys and girls ages 7 to 10 will be held July 16 through 19. Camps for boys and girls ages 11 to 14 will be held July 23 through 26. The cost is $55 for walk-up registration the day of the camp.

Register for Alpine Days

Registration has begun for the fourth annual Alpine Days 5K Run and Walk. The 5K run, 5K walk and 1.5-mile walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 11.

All three races will start and end at the Factory Stores at North Bend. Entry fees are $15 for the 5K run and walks with a T-shirt, and $10 without a T-shirt.

Men’s league needs players

The North Bend MenOs Slowpitch Softball League is in need of players and teams. The league begins on July 16 and runs through the last week of August, after playoffs. Doubleheader games will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays at the North Bend Complex. Golf tournament to benefit Rotary

The eighth annual Rotary Golf Classic to be held at 8 a.m. Friday Aug.10 at Mt. Si Golf Club in Snoqualmie is accepting registrations for $89 per player. The format is a shot gun/four man scramble and benefits the Snoqualmie Valley Rotary Youth Scholarship Fund. There will also be a hole-in-one contest sponsored by ChaplinOs Automotive Group of North Bend. The first person to hit a hole-in-one on the 11th hole wins a new 2001 Chevrolet Blazer. A continental breakfast and lunch by Adairs On The Green will also be served.

Fall sports sign-ups

All students planning to participate in a fall sport at Mount Si should have all paperwork completed prior to Aug. 20, the first day of turnout. Fall sports include football, volleyball, cross country, girls soccer, boys’ tennis, and boys’ golf.

Forms will be available in the main office, and students must purchase an Associated Student Body card for $25 prior to participation. In addition, a sports physical or update and an updated Emergency Information Form are required. Physicals are good for 13 months.

Seattle Sounders exhibition game

The Seattle Sounders Select Women’s soccer team will once again partner with the Mount Si High School Booster Club for an exhibition game against the Portland Rain. The game will feature 1998 Mount Si graduate Lindsey Jorgensen. The second annual event begins at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 22 in the Mt. Si High School stadium. The price for tickets is $6 in advance or at the gate and can be purchased by calling Bev Jorgensen at (425) 888-4351 or by e-mail at bjorge623@aol.com
