Local girls place in gymnastic meet
Michelle Athay and Melissa Thomson, two North Bend gymnasts who compete for Issaquah’s Gymnastics East, placed in a recent competition at Seahawks Stadium in Seattle.
Thomson placed first in the Level 9 competition with a 8.7 on the vault; 8.85 on the uneven bars; 8.9 on the balance beam; and 9.225 for her floor exercise. Athay, in the Level 6 competition, received 8.75 on the on the vault; 9.075 on the balance beam; and 9.75 on the floor.
Mount Si seeks baseball coach
The position of assistant baseball coach is open at Mount Si High School for the 2004 spring season. This coach will be responsible for coaching the C-level team. Practices begin on March 1 and conclude in early May. Practices are conducted immediately after school from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 pm.
