Little League needs boardmembers
The Snoqualmie Valley Little League is getting ready for the
upcoming 2001 season. There are openings on the board, which require
filling. The board meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at the North
Bend Depot. Updated information can be heard by calling (425) 888-1518.
Gliders qualify for state meet
The Issaquah Gliders entered eight cross-country runners into the
Washington State Cross-Country Championship Meet on Saturday, Nov. 11,
and all eight qualified for the Pacific Northwest Regional
Cross-Country Meet on Saturday, Nov 18, at Woodland Park.
The nine and ten-year-old boys’ team ran two miles and placed
second in their division with 41 points. The Rain City Flyers took first with
36 points and the Cascade Striders took third with 48 points. Drake
daPonte took first with a time of 11:53, while teammate Eric Walsh took second
with a time of 12:17. Justin Englund took eighth with a time of 13:12 and
Shawn Paskey took thirteenth with a time of 14.00. Completing the scoring for
the boys was Matthew Molina who took nineteenth with a time of 15:21.
In the nine and ten-year-old girls’ division, Lauren Englund placed
21st with a time of 16:23 and Katie Luna took 22nd with a time of 16:25.
Lorenzo Molina placed 20th in the 13 and 14-year-old boys division
with a time of 16:23. DaPonte and Luna both attend Snoqualmie
Elementary and Paskey attends Opstad Elementary.
