Snoqualmie Valley Behind the scenes of Fall City Days

As all of you know, there is no one person who can take credit for Fall City Days’ success since it takes so many hands to make it all happen. I seem to be the most visible committee member, so I am always being thanked by people in our community for such a great day. Now is my chance to let everyone know who is working behind the scenes to pull off this event.

Road crew: John Lazenby, Ron Johnson, Terry Dix and Kevin Hauglie. Parade: Ann Wassink and Nora Childs. Kiddie parade: Cheyenne Enevold and Madison Meyers. Ducky Derby: Laurie Hauglie, Jane Krein and Zanda Krein.

Staging: Lee Alexander, Joe Pekara and Bill Aggenbach. Vendor assistance: Cheri Enevold and Lisa King. Merchandising: Carmen Villaneuva, Melody Tjossem, Maggie Grate and Brenda Carignan. Fun Run: Barb (Baa’b) Lewis, Cindy Sattler and Julie Meador. Sound/entertainment: Vanessa and Steve Allen. Security: Mike Hastings, officer Bob, officer Meyers and officer Jordan.

Gene and Carol Stevens took charge of the parade trailer; Jack and Judy Kelley of the golf cart; Boy Scouts Pack 425 of trash duty; El Caporal restaurant of vendor facilities; Rainier Recycling of trailer access; and Gordon Construction of dumpster use. Fall City Elementary School was also a valuable resource.

Our theme this year – “Neighbors, Friends and So Much More” – sums up this year’s event, as evidenced by the responses and compliments received from visitors who had never before been here during Fall City Days. Many people came up to me and commented on how nice and friendly our town is and the relaxed feel of our community. This is carried over from the community spirit exhibited 60 years ago when our local business leaders got together and formed the volunteer fire department to protect our town.

I am proud to be associated with and be able to call all of the aforementioned folks my neighbors (and friends).
