NORTH BEND – More people should know about all the fun activities going on at the Mount Si Senior Center in North Bend.
Ruth Tolmasoff is the director, Janet Fosness the coordinator, Jane Newton does the scheduling and takes care of transportation, Dawn Taylor is our great cook and her helper is young Nathan.
Lunch is served Mondays through Fridays at 11:30 a.m. We also can go into their “thrift shop” and find some great buys.
Some fine ladies who give of their time to work there are Taffy, Dodie, Leona, Alice and Nickie.
Also, the front desk is attended by Merlyn Talbot and, on Wednesdays, her young assistant, Patrick DeArmis. Merlyn is also our exercise guru. So many people faithfully attend. Newlyweds Leo and Pearl Young, Lupe, Cleo, Herman, Juanita, Namoni and Shirley attend, just to name a few.
Mondays and Thursdays some of the folks arrive to play dominoes. You’ve got to be really sharp and quick to beat John and his wife Beverly. Faithfully every Wednesday, Herman Schultz arrives to play us some of his wonderful accordion music and his wife Tillie brings gifts for the winners.
Last, but far from least, Kristine Strohl is there every Wednesday to teach us dancing and different fun games. She recently stopped by to watch her uncle Dick Patten, along with his good friend Elnora Hodges, blow out the candles on his 80th-birthday cake. We hope to see more of you there.
