SNOQUALMIE VALLEY – Snoqualmie City Councilman Matt Larson will join neighbors Bryan Holloway, Bob Jeans and Kim Horn as the newest round of leaders in the Valley.

Although results from the Nov. 8 general election will not be certified until Nov. 29, preliminary results show Larson, Holloway, Jeans and Horn winning their races. Larson, who defeated Greg Harrelson, will replace Fuzzy Fletcher as the mayor of Snoqualmie. Holloway beat Gil Tumey, and Jeans beat Tony Yanez for their spots on the Snoqualmie City Council. Horn, the only incumbent to run for office, beat challenger Carolyn Simpson for a spot on the Snoqualmie Valley School District Board of Directors.

Those four contests were the only ones of the more than 20 local races that were contested. All were close, as well, with no winner getting more than 56 percent of the vote. Some of the margins have gotten smaller as mail-in ballots have been counted. As of Nov. 14, Holloway was ahead by only 32 votes.

The other races, which included three other Snoqualmie City Council positions, three North Bend City Council positions, two other Snoqualmie Valley School District Board of Directors positions, two King County Public Hospital District No. 4 commissioner positions, three King County Fire Protection District No. 27 commissioner positions, one Eastside Fire and Rescue District 38 commissioner position, one Si View Metropolitan Park District commissioner position and one Fall City Water District commissioner position had only one person run for office.

Should the vote leaders remain, the Snoqualmie City Council will remain largely the same since most of the races were not contested. Incumbents Kingston Wall, Maria Henriksen, Charles Peterson and Kathi Prewitt will all keep their seats.

Incumbents Chris Garcia and Ross Loudenback will keep their seats on the North Bend City Council. They will be joined by Jonathan Rosen.

The Snoqualmie Valley School District Board of Directors will welcome one new face, Marci Busby, who ran unopposed for the seat to be left vacant by outgoing board member Becky Jorgensen. Incumbent Rudy Edwards also ran unopposed.

All of the elected officials will be sworn in at their respective bodies’ first meeting in January.
