Volleyball team drops streak with losses to Eastlake, Bothell at home last week

Mount Si’s varsity volleyball team followed three recent wins over Marysville-Pilchuck, Shorewood and Inglemoor with two home losses in the same week, last week against Eastlake on Thursday, Sept. 28, and against Bothell, Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Eastlake took the win in three games, 25-18, 25-13, 25-17.

Game stats included:

Molly Gill with 6 digs;

Jessica Hanners, 9 assists, 1 ace, 2 digs;

Dana Kenow 3 aces, 4 digs;

Megan Underbrink 1 dig;

Breana Fitzgerald 1 kill, 2 digs, 0.5 blocks;

Lillian Bachand 1 ace, 12 digs;

Dana Dolan 3 assists;

Emma Anderson 6 kills, 4 assists, 2 aces, 5 digs;

Hayley West 1 kill, 1 dig;

Adrianna Auxier 4 kills, 1 ace, 10 digs;

Sara Kaitlyn Mitchell 2 kills, 1 ace, 4 digs;

Annalise Jensen 1 kill, 3 digs;

Bellah Gogan 2 kills, 1 ace, 1 dig, 0.5 blocks;

Eastlake’s JV squad also defeated Mount Si in three games, 25-16, 25-14, 15-4.

Lizzie Belceto 1 kill, 4 digs;

Emily Dann 2 digs, 1.5 blocks;

Lexi Niehaus 5 kills, 3 digs, 0.5 blocks.

On Sept. 26, Bothell took the first two games in the set 25-22 and 25-19, before the Wildcats rallied back with a 24-26 win in game three. Bothell responded and close out the match with a final score of 25-18 in the fourth game of the set.

The girls travel to Sumner this Saturday for the Sumner Varsity Invitational Tournament, then play two away games the following week. Their next home game is Tuesday, Oct. 17, with Woodinville.

The varsity team’s record this year is 3-3 overall, and 0-2 in the KingCo conference.
