Preston Crossfit gym sends eight athletes to CrossFit Games in Wisconsin

A team of athletes from Cascade CrossFit in Preston is one of 40 in the world to compete the 2017 Crossfit games, Aug. 3 to 6 in Madison, Wisc.

The team, three men and three women, competed with 4,200 teams to qualify for the games. Team members include James Bevan-Lee, Hannah Heil, Trina Huarte, Kyle Jacobson, Nick Martindale and Caitlyn Zavaglia.

Two teens, James Sprague and Tudor Magda, both age 15, also qualified for the event, placing third and 10th, respectively in their age division.

Of the more than 500,000 athletes who attempted to earn spots in the championships, eight are members of the Preston Crossfit.

The Crossfit Games competition incorporates many different exercises in combinations including Olympic lifting, gymnastics, swimming, running, rowing, biking and climbing. Watch the competition live at https://games.crossfit.com, Aug. 3 to 6.
