Mount Si High School’s gymnastics team narrowly lost to Newport at their last meet on Thursday, Jan. 12. The Wildcat’s 164 points were just barely surpassed by Newport’s 169 points.

Mount Si’s Samantha Holmes, a senior, was the highest scoring member of the team and was one of the three Mount Si athletes to score a 9 on the floor event. The other two athletes to achieve that score were Anna Steenvoorde and Emi Yoshikawa.

Their next meet will be at Bellevue High School where the Wildcats will face off against Issaquah on Thursday, Jan. 19.
