Mount Si boys pick up another win to stay alive in basketball’s post season

The Mount Si High School boys basketball team picked up their second consecutive win against Newport on Tuesday, Jan. 10. However, their game with Woodinville on Friday, Jan. 13 ended their end their winning streak.

The Wildcats’ win against Newport came down to the wire in a 58 to 50 game. Against Woodinville, the Wildcats scored more often, but not often enough to keep up with their opponents. That game ended with a score of 60 to 72.

The boys basketball team is now in the sixth place spot in the 4A league, which is the last post-season ranking. They play tonight at Eastlake.

The Wildcat girls were not able to take the win over Newport on Wednesday, Jan. 11, or against Woodinville on Friday, Jan. 13. They lost 35 to 45 against Newport and 31 to 75 against Woodinville.

The girl’s team now has one win and seven losses in the league, and four wins and 10 losses overall. Their next game will be on Tuesday, Jan. 17 against Eastlake at Eastlake High School.
