SMS beats Chief Kanim in first football match

The Snoqualmie Middle School football team traveled to Chief Kanim Middle School on Wednesday, Sept. 30.

The game was a defensive battle between two talented teams, and ended after regulation at 0-0. The game then went into three overtimes. SMS came out victorious when the Hawks missed tying the game when they were stopped at the one yard line. Final score was SMS 18, CKMS 12.

Leading Chief Kanim on offense was Jordan Chapman with 165 yards on 27 carries. Jack Hunt also added 45 yards on seven carries. On defense, Drew Cotto was the main man, recording 13 tackles and one forced fumble. Eddie Ponce De Leon added nine tackles, and Jack Hunt had seven. Jackson Nelson forced a fumble and David Bluher played a solid game on the defensive line. Coaches Fowler and Faoro said they were proud of the way their players played with intensity, effort and heart. They look forward to playing SMS again later in the season.
