Snoqualmie Valley foundations offering sports scholarships

The Tanner Jeans Memorial Foundation and Si View Community Foundation are partnering to offer sports scholarships to several Valley clubs.
Scholarship forms are available to provide up to one-half payment of fees for qualifying families for participation in various select sports programs. Initial programs that are eligible for scholarships include the Rainier Baseball Club, Traveling Baseball Clubs (Falls Little League), Cascade FC Select Soccer, Si View Travel Basketball and Wildcat Football.
The Tanner Jeans Foundation is donating $10,000, and the Si View Community Foundation has agreed to serve as the third party administrator.
The pilot program is meant to help families offset the cost of sports and to increase opportunities for participation by local youth.
Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first- served basis. Funds are set aside to ensure that an equitable number of scholarships are available for each sports category. Scholarships are granted based on financial need and in compliance with equal opportunity requirements.
