The Sahara Bears, a 12-year-old Snoqualmie Valley boys baseball team, recently finished their fourth season with a great record. The Bears racked up a 51-win, 19-loss season that included their 10th tournament championship. Next year, they will enter the Sandy Koufax League and are looking to fill several roster spots. Open tryouts are 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30 at Tibbetts Field in Issaquah. The Bears are looking for competitive 12-to-13-year-olds who want to play baseball at a high level. The Bears are managed by Steve Thomas and sponsored by Sahara Pizza. For more information, call Thomas at (206) 604-0812.
