Crossfire Red team wins cup

Cascade View Elementary School fourth grade student Courtney Kasel and the rest of her Crossfire Premier GU-11 Red team, playing out of Redmond, defeated the Northwest Nationals, 1-0, on Saturday, May 9, to capture the Washington State Youth Soccer Challenge Cup.

Crossfire cruised through bracket play, earning a bye in the elimination round. Crossfire Red then defeated Dosveedanya “A”, 2-1, and crushed Snohomish United, 4-0, on their way to the championship match.

The team recorded four shutouts and scored 13 goals, while only allowing two goals during the tournament.
