FC girls win Challenge Cup

The Cascade FC GU-96 team took the state title on Saturday, May 9, beating Vancouver United, 4-3, in a hard-fought contest.

After coming from behind twice, the Cascade FC team scored in overtime to win the Washington State Youth Soccer Association’s Challenge Cup. The girls had a strong defense in the six-game tournament, scoring 18 goals and five shut-outs.

The team is made up of Snoqualmie Valley youth including Zoe Virta, Camilla Carpenter, Katherine Rameriz, Lauren Solene, Jessy Wright, Natalie Hancock, Grace Howland, Johanna Cranford, Madison Jones, Dharyanne Springer-Simon, Michaela Wallace, Malia Barrett, Kiely Jones, Emily Johns, Lainie Gibbs and Julianna Foster. Jeremy Eisenman is head coach and Osmar Rameriz is assistant coach.
