Williams named champion in horse event

North Bend resident Maura Williams claimed the High Point honor in a national equine competition riding program through the Arabian Horse Association.

Willians was named 2008 High Point Champion in jumping for the local division in the open event incentive program, with a total of 15 points.

The OEIP, one of three incentive riding programs offered by the Arabian Horse Association, encourages Arabian owners to ride and compete with their horses in all-breed environments to showcase the versatility, ahtleticism and beauty of the breed.

Williams will receive a trophy and certificate from the association.
