Hawks win 'Battle of the Birds'
The Chief Kanim Middle School Hawks seventh and eighth grade boys varsity basketball teams both ended their seasons on Thursday, March 26 with impressive victories against the Snoqualmie Middle School Eagles.
The Hawsk' eighth grade team controlled the boards and used a stingy defense to earn the victory, while the seventh grade team used an effective press to gain the win. Coaches Blake and Johnston said they were proud of the Hawks' efforts.
At seventh grade, Jackson Nelson had 18 points and six steals, Jake Archambeau had 11 points and six steals, Alex Dolewski had four points, Jack Hunt had three 3 points and seven rebounds, Ethan Seneker and Jordan Chapman had four points, Jameson Showers had 10 rebounds, and Drew Cotto and Paul Bateman each had three rebounds.
At the eighth grade, Griffen Mclain had 12 points, Joey Cotto had 11 points, Alex Censullo had eight points, Gunnar Buhner had seven points, Blake Gillespie had six points, Austin Hall had five points, Rigel Kuhn had four points and Chase Luxich had two.
