Wildcat gymnasts host last home meet

The Mount Si gymnastics team hosted both Issaquah and Skyline last week, but fell in overall team points. Issaquah took first with a score of 166.550 followed by Skyline with a team score of 156.200 and Mount Si with 141.200.

Despite the team loss, several gymnasts performed well as part of senior night. On the beam, Frances Gill took first for the Wildcats with a score of 7.600. Rachel Karavias followed with a score of 7.300, Sarah Lewis had a 7.200, McKinna Little had a 7.100, Tiffany Kinsman had a 6.900 and Jilly Buck had a 6.500. Cassie Irwin and Anika Granillo rounded out the team with a 6.20 and 6.00, respectively.

On the floor, Karavias finished first for the Wildcats with a score of 8.300, followed by Lewis with an 8.200. Little had a strong routine, giving her a score of 7.200 and Gill finished with a 6.900. Teammate Buck finished with a 6.500, followed by Kinsman with a 6.400. Kelly Besmer rounded out the top 25 with a 6.000.

On the vault, Karavias finished first for the 'Cats with a score of 8.100, followed by Lewis with a 7.800, Little with a 7.750, Buck with a 7.650, Gill with a 7.500, Kelsey Larson with a 7.200 and Besmer with a 6.800.

Mount Si heads to the league meet this Saturday at Newport High School.
