Mount Si roars back into contention

The Mount Si boys' soccer team rebounded off a tough start with two big wins last week.
Last Tuesday, March 27, the Wildcats went to Sammamish and scored a big 2-1 win. Gibson Bardsley scored both goals as Mount Si's defense shut down the Totems' two big guns: Vini Oliviera and Jose Luis Bonilla. Kevin Isackson added an assist on one of the goals.
The Wildcats were off last Thursday, March 29, but were still a busy group as they welcomed the group from England that they are hosting this week as part of a cultural exchange. Last Friday, the program hosted a dinner at Mount Si High School for the kids and their coaches from Bishop Heber High School in Malpas, in the Cheshire region south of Liverpool.
Mount Si went up against the Interlake Saints last Saturday night, March 31. In front of the English contingent, the Wildcats put on an offensive show in an 8-3 blowout of the Saints.
Bardsley scored a hat trick, or three goals, to lead a balanced scoring attack; six different Mount Si players scored goals in the contest.
"It was a good game by the boys. I thought we got a lot of people involved early, which allowed us to create some different lineup changes in the second half, but the boys responded well," said Wildcat coach Darren Brown.
