The Mount Si girls' tennis team opened last week with a loss to Issaquah April 30. In a match spread over two days (the match started April 25, but was suspended due to rain), the Eagles narrowly won, using a strong effort in singles to post the five matches to four victory.

In singles, the Wildcat winners were Erika Strine, who defeated Issaquah's Ashley Hoyt 6-3, 6-1; and Carly Nelson, who beat the Eagles' Emma Haberlach 6-3, 6-4. Kelsey Wise gave her Issaquah opponent a big challenge, winning the second set 6-2 after falling in set one 6-7, but Wise was unable to put Mika Asaba away, and Wise fell in set three to Asaba 4-6.

Doubles went a bit better for Mount Si as the teams of Strine/Wise and Amber McCrory/Rachel Brun posted victories, but Issaquah's Hoyt and Ariel Hagen won their doubles match against Mount Si's Mariana Zanella and Vivian Yang, providing the margin of victory overall.
