Red Wolves outpace Interlake, Skyline

Boys _ Cedarcrest 33, Interlake 35, Skyline 52

The Runnin' Red Wolves traveled to Interlake Thursday, took the

measure of the Saints' tough three-mile course, and came away with the


Skyline's Justin Ireland was the first to cross the tape, with a time

of 15-minutes flat. Right behind came Cedarcrest ace James Conrick,

who timed in at 15:12 for second place. Danny Abell (16:19), Eric

Pedeferri (16:20), Chris Lee (16:37) and Pat Conrick (16:53) helped round out

the top ten, placing sixth, seventh, eighth and tenth respectively.

Girls _ Skyline 21, Cedarcrest 59, Interlake 71

The Cedarcrest women moved up a notch at Interlake, placing second

to Skyline while out-pointing the host squad. Kelly Ramirez continued

her strong record of finishes, coming across the line with a 19:28 and

second place to Skyline's Mackenzie Crosby. Teammate Yingxuan

Law placed sixth with a time of 20:30.

Thursday night brings the last regularly scheduled meet of

the KingCo 3A season. Mount Si will travel to Cedarcrest to face

"Bruce McDowell Memorial Hill," and

determine who gets bragging _ or running _ rights for the Snoqualmie Valley.

The first runners should step out about 4:30 p.m.

Wildcats move up against Sammamish, Liberty

Boys _ Sammamish 34, Mount Si 37, Liberty 49

The Wildcat men finished a strong second in Thursday's meet, hosted

by Mount Si. Payton Thompson came across the line with a 16:56.3,

placing him second to Sammamish's Andrew Kim's winning 16:48.

Thompson's teammate Mike Macrae finished third with a 17:24.6, while Bryce

Kaestner and Dan Barry finished eighth and tenth with times of 18.21.2

and 18.32.8 respectively.

Girls _ Sammamish 26, Liberty 27, Mount Si DNQ

Sammamish and Liberty dominated in the lady's side of the

event, despite strong runs by Mount Si's Ashley Wiegardt and Katie

Childs. Sammamish's Susie Bunday won the race with a time of 21.38.5,

followed by Wiegardt and Childs with times of 22:06.7 and 22:14.6 respectively.

The Wildcat lineup was completed by Amy Hyatt, 24:20.1 for eleventh place,

and Sarah Coffey, 24:32. 8 for thirteenth.

Note: In last week's summary of the Mount Si, Newport and

Mercer Island meet, the Valley Record inadvertently left out Payton

Thompson's name. Thompson finished second with a time of 17:10 for the

three-mile course. Our congratulations to him, and apologies for the oversight.
